What
started out as a cool overcast day, with numerous cell phone
calls of, "I forgot this...", and, "Can you pick this up?",
quickly turned into a very long day of fun and laughs at the 4th
Annual Croswell Great Cardboard Boat Regatta. Though we hoped
for a lot of boats, we all have something inside, whether it be
past experience, or questions about the extremely cool spring
that Michigan has experienced, we expected an average or smaller
boat turnout. Surprise, we had more boats, and thusly more fun
than we have ever had. The sun came out, the boats started to
hit the water, and before you knew it the Cardboard Boat Regatta
had taken over all of Croswell. There were boats with deer
antlers, there were boats with wet paint, there were boats with
no paint, but we couldn't find any boats with crews that weren't
having fun. We ran out of rules, instant boat kits, heat sheets,
and even ran out of repair tape for boats that were scrambling
to get their boats ready for the next round, but we all had fun
right up to the very end.
Thanks
to all who helped, which are too numerous to mention.
Everyone that did, knows what they did, and how much work it
takes to entertain 4000 people. Thanks to everyone, hope to see
all you back next year.
